Corrections

We separate what a source establishes from what stays uncertain. When we have drawn that line in the wrong place, we redraw it in public.

  1. Corrections

A correction is issued when a study, label or expert statement was misreported, when a dose, concentration or condition was stated wrongly, or when a claim was presented as established that the source did not support.

  2. Clarifications

A clarification is issued when the facts were right but the framing let a reader take more from them than the evidence allows. Clarifications carry a date and sit at the point in the text where the framing changed.

  3. Retractions

If the central claim of a piece cannot be supported after review, the piece is withdrawn and a notice stays at the URL explaining why.
